ENTRY 7
Location:
On the bridge connecting the International Finance Center (IFC) to the star ferry pier, Central, HK.
Background:
"I'm originally from Shenzhen, mainland China. I make a living playing the er hu, a traditional Chinese instrument, on the streets. I came to Hong Kong because my lover is here. She grew up in Hong Kong, and we're both divorced. I've been here a few months now."
Opinion:
"I have a shuang xing zhen ( which I need to renew every 3 months. I'm waiting for my shuang cheng zhen, which requires the government to look into my socioeconomic background."
“I don't think most people look down on me. It’s hard being a musician in Hong Kong, but harder in mainland China. Here at least I can earn a living.”
“Policemen sometimes make me leave, but they're much nicer here than in China. In China, it depends on how many cigarettes and how much cash you give them for them to leave you alone.”
“I don’t care about the system Hong Kong is under. I used to support Gong Chuan Zhu Yi (communism), but Hong Kong is Zi Ben Zhu Yi (capitalist) oriented. I think both parties have faults and benefits. Honestly, I just want China to be stable.”
“Stability is key, freedom is second.”
“Occupy central can’t change HK in one day. Change needs time.”
