Opinion:
The Hong Kong-China conflict in my eyes seems like a childish argument.
I believe that it is simply one country and a two system situation. I was born in HK and raised in the mainland. This is similar to the Taiwanese situation as people from both sides have this innate hatred towards the other side.
Back home people would always debate and say that both islands are part of China. I agree with that because it simply is but it doesn't necessarily have to maintain the same political agenda as the mainland government.
I feel like there needs to be more awareness at SPS about this issue because it irks me when someone am says that Hong Kong isn't part of China, because for centuries it has been and there is no reason to separate the two.
