I can see why Hong Kong-ers don't really like the mainland Chinese. For example, amongst many other reasons, a lot of the mainland Chinese tourists are very rude and can be very annoying at times.
However, I feel that the Hong Kong-mainland China conflict is overblown and is a lot bigger than what it should be. Take for example the Occupy Central movement. China already gave Hong Kong a right to choose its chief executive and that it is a huge step. Yet tens of thousands of people occupied Central and had a huge fight with the police.
I agree with the original principles of Occupy Central, but I don't think that it should be that big of movement. I think the protestors should just protest peacefully and simply put their point across.
There’s also the milk powder problem. It is such a trivial problem yet it is overblown to such great extents.
I think Hong Kong needs mainland China, because a lot of our economy comes from the mainland, like tourism. I honestly think that Hong Kong needs the mainland more than they need us. I don't think there should be more awareness of this issue in SPS.
